| Dating back to the early 19th Century, once home to the Barons Montidella Corte (whose family represented the union of two noble lines: The Dove of The Monti and The Lion of The Della Corte), Villa Le Scale is one of the few Caprian Villas of the era still intact. The present owner, a distinguished antiquarian and art collector, has painstakingly restored the villa and due to the quality of the workmanship and the superb interior decoration, inspired by the themes of art and travel, this historical residence retains all it's charm. Villa Le Scale is located near the house turned museum of the swedish author Axel Munthe, in Anacapri, at the heart of the Island above the Maddening Crowd but still overflowing with charm. Just off the main square in Anacapri, Villa Le Scale is a short 15 minute taxi ride from the Marina Grande in Capri. You can reach Capri by ferry or hydrofoil from either Naples or Sorrento. Transportation from Naples is available either at the Port of Mergellina or Molo Beverello.
