Adare Adare, steeped in history, is set in the rich Golden Vale with ancient churches, world renowned thatched cottages and many ruins strewn along the banks of the majestic river Maigue. A trip to the Adare Heritage Centre is a must for any history enthusiast, where a wide array of Craft Shops, Heraldry Information and a historical tour all wait to be explored. Adare Heritage Centre also organises guided tours of Adare. Shopping in Adare is an experience with the streets lined with enchanting thatched cottages, selling Crafts, Fashions and Antiques. Adare is home to fashion designer Michaelina Stacpoole, whose fashions can be viewed in her shop on the main street. Adare and the surrounding area boasts a wide variety of attractions and activities: Golf is available at a choice of 7 courses locally, including the Robert Trent Jones Designed Adare Hotel Golf Course & the Adare Manor Golf Club. Equestrian activities are the order of the day at The Clonshire Equestrian & Polo Center, just outside the village. Adare is also well renowned in Hunting Circles as a meeting point for local hunts, The hunting season runs from November to March and arrangements can be made with local hunts if you wish to go hunting during your stay. Fishing on the River Maigue comprises mainly of Game Angling with Salmon & Grilse plentiful. Butter Cup & Stonehall are just two visitor Farms in the area where you are guaranteed a sample of Traditional Irish Farming Life. Curraghchase Forest Park boasts a 600 acre plantation featuring a lake, walkways, a nature trail, ruins of the home of the late 18th Century Poet Aubrey de Vere and just a few meters along the road you will find the Celtic Theme Park & Gardens.
